The Milky Way Galaxy 🌌

When you look up, you are looking at the Milky Way Galaxy. Each star you see is a sun from other solar systems within it.

The Solar System πŸ”

We live in a system of spinning planets orbiting around the sun so we call this 'The Solar System'

Planets πŸͺ

Our home planet is called Earth. There are millions more in the galaxy, but 8 in our solar system.

Earth 🌎

Is the 3rd Planet from the Sun and the only place in the galaxy that’s inhabited by living things.

Life 🧬

There is not an agreed definition of life, it's basically a mystery but we can say all living things contain 'DNA'.Β

Atoms βš›οΈ

Everything is made from atoms, it's the smallest and most basic particle of an element.

Elements

The most basic building blocks everything is made up are described as elements. In modern science we have about defined this to be about 118, however the ancient Greeks believed that there were just four – earth, water, air, and fire. This is known as classical elements of nature and they also formed the cornerstone of philosophy, science, and medicine for over two thousand years.

πŸŒ‹ Fire represents the heat and the flames.

🌊 Water represents the seas, oceans, lakes and all the water bodies.

⛰️ Earth represents the soil and rocks that we live on

πŸŒͺ Air represents what we breathe and the sky that we live under

Seasons

Most places in the world have 4 seasons which are defined by temperature changes and weather patterns, except for some places that are closer to the equator which are constantly warm and have 2 seasons - wet and dry.

Weather

Seasons are typically connected with a pattern of weather.

Moons

πŸŒ‘ πŸŒ’ πŸŒ“ πŸŒ” πŸŒ• πŸŒ– πŸŒ— 🌘 πŸŒ‘

Moons – also known as natural satellites – orbit planets and asteroids in our solar system. There are dozens of moons; and millions of asteroids, comets, and meteoroids in our solar system.

Comets β˜„οΈ

Asteroids and comets are leftovers from the formation of our solar system 4.6 billion years ago.

β€œNothing can stop us now ’cause we are all made of stars.”
